A Mind That Suits What doesn't kill me, makes me laugh... usually.

Okay, folks: a serious question. This writer has heard from two men that he admires immensely, both of them writers with a reach far, far beyond anything A Mind That Suits will ever achieve. One maintains that, on Iraq, and on Donald Rumsfeld in particular, he is talking through his hat. The other, who read very seriously the blog on what we learned from Saddam's suitcase (Dec. 18) , says that it comes across as self-satisfied. A serious rereading reveals that, yes, it is a pretty thorough survey of all that this writer has been furious about since about April 10, and that can come across as arrogant, and perhaps it was. But the fact is that all those issues seem to be very serious, and have not been addressed.

It is striking, however, that i have not heard from my loyal readers, whose opinions I highly value. Perhaps you were all put off by it. What say you? Lay on, as MacBeth said to MacDuff. Was I totally off the wall?
